Mariana Claveria
Meet Mariana, a passionate graduate of the University of Alberta who holds a secondary teaching degree specializing in teaching Spanish and English to English as a Second-Language learners. With a strong focus on junior high education, she is dedicated to helping students build confidence and discover the power of language and learning.
Drawing on her experience as a university tutor and an exciting teaching adventure in Madrid, Mariana brings both global perspective and practical teaching experience into her work with students.
As an educator, Mariana has come to deeply appreciate that learning is a lifelong journey. Growing up with immigrant parents, she developed a strong appreciation for language learning and the role it plays in connecting people, cultures, and communities. To her, language is a powerful communicative bridge to the world without it, meaningful connection and understanding would not be possible.
Mariana also channels her energy and leadership skills as a U14 club volleyball coach, helping young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and resilience both on and off the court.
She believes that education is a privilege we are fortunate to have, and that personalized attention is key to unlocking each student’s potential. Mariana is passionate about highlighting the transformative power of education and advocating for its vital role in shaping lives and communities. She firmly believes that one-on-one support can make a monumental impact on students’ academic journeys.
